About The Position
National Law University Delhi has invited expressions of interest for the full-time contractual position of IPR Chair Professor under the DPIIT IPR Chair.
The Chair has been established by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, under the Scheme for Pedagogy and Research in IPRs for Holistic Education and Academia (SPRIHA).
The selected candidate will work at National Law University Delhi, Dwarka campus.
Role And Responsibilities
The IPR Chair Professor will be responsible for promoting teaching, research, and capacity-building in the field of Intellectual Property Rights at the University.
The role will include developing and strengthening IP-related curriculum, encouraging research in intellectual property, and contributing to the creation of an IP knowledge base in line with global best practices.
The selected candidate will also collaborate with academic institutions, industry bodies, and other stakeholders. The position will involve policy research, outreach programmes, student mentoring, and publication of research work.
Nature Of Appointment
The position is purely contractual and is initially for a period of one year, which may be extended.
The appointment will not carry any right to regularisation or regular faculty benefits. It will also be subject to verification and may be terminated based on performance.

Remuneration
The selected candidate will receive a consolidated remuneration of ₹1,50,000 per month.
TDS at the rate of 10% will be deducted as per the Income Tax Act.
No additional benefits or perks will be provided.
Eligibility
Candidates must satisfy any one of the following eligibility conditions:
- Professor or Associate Professor as per UGC norms with experience in IPR; or
- IP Attorney with a minimum of 10 years of practice; or
- Recognised IPR professional with more than 10 years of experience; or
- Retired IP Office official at Level 12 or above with a PhD.
The age of the applicant must be below 70 years.
Eligibility will be determined as on the last date of application.
Selection Process
Applications will be shortlisted after evaluation.
Mere shortlisting will not guarantee an interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
The final selection will be made by a committee constituted by the Vice-Chancellor.

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories are exempted from payment of the application fee.
