Andhra University Announces Moot Court Competition With ₹45,000 Total Prizes

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar College of Law invites law students across India to participate in the three-day Moot Court event from March 28–30, 2026; registration extended to March 18.

About Andhra University

Andhra University, based in Visakhapatnam, is among India’s oldest and most distinguished universities, established in 1926. The Dr. B.R. Ambedkar College of Law, established in 1945 as part of Andhra University, ranks among India’s top law colleges. The college provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral legal programs, emphasizing research, advocacy, and professional training. Its faculty, well-stocked library, and history of producing prominent legal professionals underpin its strong reputation.

About the Moot Court Competition

The upcoming Moot Court Competition simulates real court proceedings, requiring participants to analyse legal problems, conduct research, prepare written submissions, and present oral arguments. Moot problems focus on contemporary or unsettled areas of law, enabling students to develop practical advocacy skills.

As part of the university’s centenary celebrations, the event aims to enhance the culture of legal debate and professional skill-building on campus.

Theme

The competition will focus on Family Law.

Eligibility and Team Composition

The event is open to students enrolled in:

  • Integrated 5-year law programs in India, or 3-year LL.B programs in India.

Teams must consist of three members, with two designated as speakers and one as researcher at the time of registration. Each institution may register up to two teams.

Registration Fee: ₹3,500 per team

Prize Structure

The competition will award ₹45,000 in total prizes, distributed as follows:

  • Winners: ₹20,000
  • Runners-up: ₹10,000
  • Best Mooter: ₹5,000
  • Best Memorial: ₹5,000
  • Best Researcher: ₹5,000

Important Dates

  • Extended Registration Deadline: March 18, 2026
  • Memorial Submission: March 25, 2026 (Late submission allowed until March 26 with penalty)
  • Event Dates: March 28–30, 2026
