University of Calcutta Invites Submissions for Sunday Blog Post; Deadline March 20, 2026

The Department of Law, University of Calcutta, through its Magazine Committee, opens entries for the 5th edition of “The Sunday Blog Post,” themed “Credit Where It’s Due,” encouraging undergraduate students to explore unacknowledged contributions in society and law.

About the Department of Law, University of Calcutta

The Department of Law, University of Calcutta—popularly known as Hazra Law College—is a historic legal education institution in Kolkata. It offers undergraduate B.A. LL.B. (5-year) programs and affiliated courses across multiple colleges. The department holds a NAAC ‘A’ accreditation and admits students through the Calcutta University Law Entrance Test (CULET-UG).

About the Magazine Committee

Established in 2019, the Magazine Committee chronicles academic, literary, and extracurricular achievements within the department. It publishes the annual magazine “The Muses,” edited by students, highlighting institutional activities, competitions, and the yearly endeavors of students.

The Committee also manages an online platform, “The Musing,” where essays, articles, poems, and interviews are regularly featured, offering students a venue to showcase creative, analytical, and literary skills.

The Sunday Blog Post: 5th Edition

The Magazine Committee has announced the 5th edition of “The Sunday Blog Post” under the theme: “Credit Where It’s Due.” The edition seeks entries that examine overlooked contributions, misattribution, and the ethics of intellectual credit, spanning disciplines from laboratories to courtrooms.

Eligibility

All undergraduate students across colleges are eligible to participate.

Submission Guidelines

  • Languages Accepted: English, বাংলা (Bengali), हिंदी (Hindi)
  • Font: Times New Roman (mandatory)
  • File Format: Word document (.doc / .docx)
  • Word Limit: 450–500 words (analytical essays, critical reflections, or reportage)
  • Authorship: One author per submission
  • AI Usage: Submissions with over 10% AI-generated content will be rejected
