Delhi Police Crime Branch Shuts Down Counterfeit Medicine Factory in Ghaziabad

In a significant crackdown on fake pharmaceuticals, the Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted an illegal medicine manufacturing unit in Ghaziabad, arresting two suspects and seizing thousands of counterfeit drugs, police said. 

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Aditya Gautam told reporters that the accused were producing and distributing fake ointments under the guise of well-known brands. The raid uncovered more than 7,500 counterfeit ointments, raw materials, and packing machinery at the facility. 

The operation, conducted under actionable intelligence, forms part of an ongoing effort to curb the spread of spurious medicines across the region. Authorities are continuing investigations to trace the supply chain and identify other individuals involved in the racket.
