Ramaiah College of Law has unveiled the inaugural edition of the Ramaiah International Moot and Arbitration Conference 2026, marking a major milestone in the institution’s more than three decades of legal education. The launch event was held on 15 November 2025 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Bengaluru.
RIMAC 2026 is scheduled to take place from 13–15 March 2026, offering law students a platform to engage with international-standard arbitration practice through a structured moot competition.
Prestigious Partnerships and High-Profile Launch
The conference is being organised in collaboration with renowned legal institutions and firms including AZB & Partners, CMS IndusLaw, International Arbitration and Mediation Centre and Jurisphere reflecting RCL’s commitment to bridging academic rigour with real-world legal practice.
On 27 November 2025, Justice B.M. Shyam Prasad, Additional Judge, High Court of Karnataka, officially released the Moot Proposition along with the official rules and timelines. He praised RCL’s initiative to elevate legal education with global-standard arbitration training.
Competition Structure and Eligibility
- The moot competition will consist of a Memorial Evaluation Round followed by Oral Pleading Rounds.
- Only one team per institution is allowed; eligible participants include students pursuing undergraduate LL.B. or equivalent programs, as well as first-year postgraduate law students provided none of the team members are admitted to practice as advocates yet.
- Each team should comprise two to three members. In a three-member team, two will act as orators and one as researcher; a two-member team will consist of two orators.
- The deadline for registration is 15 December 2025.
Incentives and Opportunities
Top-performing teams and individuals stand to win attractive cash prizes: ₹ 1,00,000 for the winning team, ₹ 75,000 for the runner-up, ₹ 50,000 each for the Best Mooter and Best Memorial. Beyond awards, winners may gain access to internship opportunities with the partnering legal organisations.
RCL is inviting select institutions from across India (and abroad) to participate on an invite-only basis, underlining its ambition to position RIMAC among leading international moot-arbitration competitions.
