New Delhi, Nov 18, 2025:
Delhi faced a series of coordinated security alerts on Tuesday after multiple court complexes and two CRPF schools received bomb threat emails, leading to immediate evacuations and temporary suspension of judicial activities.
Courts and Schools Emptied After Threat Emails
Authorities confirmed that Saket District Court, Patiala House Court, and another major court complex were cleared and cordoned off soon after the threatening emails surfaced.
Similar alert emails were also received by two CRPF-run schools in Dwarka and Prashant Vihar, prompting officials to evacuate students and staff while security teams inspected the premises.
Saket Court Suspends Proceedings
Following the threat, Saket District Court’s Honorary Secretary, Advocate Anil Basoya, issued an emergency notice suspending court work for two hours.
The notice stated:
“Court work is suspended for the next 2 hours due to a security issue. Proceedings will resume after lunch once clearance is received. Stay calm, cooperate and avoid crowding.”
Court personnel, advocates, and visitors were moved out as security teams conducted searches.
Evacuation Visuals Emerge
Videos from the Saket District Court showed lawyers and litigants being escorted outside as emergency protocols were activated in response to the threat emails
Eyewitness Account from Saket Court
Advocate Anurag Srivastava, a practising lawyer at Saket Court, said that the evacuation was executed swiftly and efficiently.
He shared: “The police acted promptly. Within minutes of the alert, the entire court block was cleared in a disciplined manner. Though the situation created momentary panic, the security personnel handled everything professionally.”
He further added that advocates and litigants waited outside the premises until clearance was expected later in the afternoon..
Advocate Neethu, who was present during the evacuation, noted that the incident caused concern among women litigants who were waiting for their hearings.
She said: “Many women and senior citizens were anxious, but the staff and advocates helped them exit safely. The coordination was surprisingly smooth despite the crowd.”
Advocate Urvya added that the sudden disruption affected several ongoing matters but safety had to take priority.
She commented: “Several cases were mid-hearing when the alert came in. Everyone had to leave instantly. While it caused inconvenience, the precaution was necessary given the gravity of the threat.”
City on Alert
With multiple institutions targeted at once, security agencies are treating the situation seriously. Sweeping operations and background checks are underway across all affected locations to verify the origin of the emails.
